The columns on the side will more likely have Archive of past entries and other one with ads (if ad supported ) and or more info about the author , a search bar and links related to the blog's topic. Blogs are simple websites used to share info using words, audio, video and or pictures. Most bloggers are people sharing knowledge on the specific blog topic. A weblog will use word to do descriptions and any topic. An audioblog will use, well, audio to share information in form of podcast. Photologs use pictures with descriptions that users share with mostly friends. Vblogs or videoblogs use videos and are not really popular.
