Web 2.0 is about Collaboration. Prior to Web 2.0 people only viewed web content, with Web 2.0, people, ordinary people,now create the content in the form of:

• Blogs (content is created by the blogger and those who leave comments)
• Youtube is a video blog, where people create videos rather than text and other people leave comments
• Google Maps where several people can contribute to the creation of a custom map
• Online learning, as in the course, where the use of Discussion Forums and Wikisfacilitate studentslearning from other students as well as the prof (and the prof is learning from the students) see Knowledge Sharing.
• Twitter (Read David Pogue Jan 15, '09 column "Twittering Tips for Beginners")
• Social Networks such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Disaboom, CafeMom, Tand Eons appeal to the need of people ofages to communicate with people like themselves.This assignment is about the variety of Social Networks. Who is joining and what they are accomplishing because they are part of the network.

Most of youhave active Facebook or MySpace Accounts and think you know alot about social networks. But learn about others by

• Reading about how social networking has changed the internet and society
• Visiting an assortment of networking site and seeing what each offers.
• Sharing your findings and analysis on the class Wetpaint wiki.
